This turns the water blood red and toxic, which is likely what old stories were referring to when they said water turned to blood. Pretty cool imo

I have taken to the water in some very nice destinations over the last 20 or so years and appreciate a post like this. Beautiful pictures.
I'll actually be back in Cozumel, Mexico early this spring.

Coastal Florida has this problem now & then too...really hurts business at the beach. Must have been really scary back when no one knew what was causing it.
