I recently was made to move out of my home and had to move back in with my family. They aren't fond of animals and feel that snakes are not real pets so I was told to get rid of them. Specifically to release the snakes in the woods. Didn't do that, of course. I found someone from the Wildlife Center to take them. Idk. I'm gutted. My family is fully aware of how long I wanted snakes, and pets in general, and just immediately told me to ditch them and that "being an adult means making difficult decisions and sacrifice". I don't think using a person's pet to teach life lessons is appropriate but what do I know? My indoor-only pets have been outside in the rain and freezing temperatures because "cats are gross. they walk in their litter boxes and then all over your house." I'm trying my best to get us out of this situation and not make my family too angry by being upset about it all.
