Shedding problems
Hello so my bp Rumples is shedding again. This is his second time shedding with me and the first time was not smooth at all, neither is this time. I have done a lot to try and get the shed off the first time.
I would spray his enclosure with a mister spray bottle, I set up a little humidifier by his tank, and I tried soaking him but none of that worked. So my question is what can I do to make the humidity go up in the enclosure or what can I do if he can't get it of?

Re: Shedding problems
Maybe the 3rd time will be a charm because my ball python just had his third shed and it went wonderful! He got it all off himself and it came in 2 big pieces!
The first two sheds were really crappy I had to help him do most of it and do water soakings.
Spray his enclosure down really good three or four times a day and spray inside his hide

What is your humidity? Keep in mind your snakes new shed cycle starts now. It's not just about bumping humidity during a shed, it's about proper husbandry all the time. Bumping the humidity during a shed helps of course, but won't fix the past if husbandry is off.

Has your BP been eating well? Eating consistently helps keep them hydrated also.

Yes, he eats really well actually. He has not gone on a feeding strike yet even when he is in shed.

The humidity is at 60 but I can't seem to make it go up at all.

I stole this idea from another member a few weeks ago...if you have a screen top enclosure, take a towel and wet it (and wring it out REALLY well) and cover about 50-75% of the top. It really helps me bump up the humidity in my snakes' enclosures.

Re: Shedding problems
Do you have one of the exo terra or zoo med tanks because New England Herp makes glass covers for them.
