It's really hard to tell with just pics. A video would be easier to tell. Truthfully though it just sounds like exploring to me. Mine do the same thing at night.

My purple passion does the same thing and it’s just him being curious, my other ball doesn’t do that at all. They are total opposites

This makes me feel a bit better. Honestly I wasn't that worried, I just thought it was strange, I hadn't heard of any other bp's doing this sort of 'exploring' before.
