    Shedding!!

I've had Mamba for 3 weeks now. And yesterday I noticed hes going blue, I think that's the correct term?? First time bp owner so this is pretty cool to me. Husbandry has been pretty good so hopefully no issues and today was feeding day and he took the rat so happy about that too. I dont remember though, should I just leave him alone until he sheds? Or can I still handle him?

You can handle him while in shed. (not right after eating, though..)

Once they are in deep blue, though, meaning the eyes are opaque, some are more nervous or defensive. They can't see anything.
Honestly, I leave mine be while in shed. Unless I need to handle them for maintenance, etc.

Bump up the humidity a bit during this time and you should get a nice , one piece shed

You could handle, but why? IF you're a good keeper, you can potentially have Mamba for 30 years. You have plenty of time to handle him.

Not that I need to handle him. Was just curious. I gotta say, I'm kinda proud of myself. First time snake owner and husbandry is pretty good. Temp and humidity is on point. Also thanks to this forum for a lot of info. Thanks everyone.

I personally don't handle mine while they're in shed. But, that's one of the benefits to having multiple snakes
