    Is he tamed?

I've had my bp for a little over a month now and I have been working with him on handling. He used to constantly be moving and exploring around and wouldnt sit still, but tonight I got him out and he has been so still coiled and just chilling around my hand and wrist for about 15min now. Like I said, he doesn't sit still... at all... so does this mean hes finally "tame" or what?

Most likely means he is more comfortable with you now. How's his appetite going? I ask because it's generally best not to handle a new snake until it has fed
regularly & easily for you, about 3 consecutive times. Many snakes don't naturally sit still for long anyway though...they may look for places to hide (being out
in the open puts them at risk from predators).

    How old is your snake?
I have what's still considered a hatchling I guess at 3 months old
He's really always been pretty good at sitting still but to make him feel comfortable when I have him out I kind of make it where he can get in the neck under my shirt

    Re: Is he tamed?

Hes close to 4and 1/2 months. I held him for a bit and like I said he unusually sat quiet still having his little tail hooked around my pinky and the rest of him wrapped and coiled around my hand and wrist just chilling. I put him back in his enclosure tho and he immediately pooped tho so maybe that's why he was so still? Lol

I know don't you just love it when their little tail curls around your finger?
Sounds like he is getting more comfortable
Close to the same age as mine do you have a picture?

Congrats on your snake! It looks like you really care about him. :-) He seems very comfortable with you!

My snakes have moods and they will sometimes be chill and sometimes all over the place. I think it depends on time of day, how hungry they are, and maybe their temperature (and who knows what else?). I agree it's good to give a snake a place to hide. Mine love my bathrobe. I just got a Christmas stocking and they love to sit in that. I can put that on my desk or my lap or whatever and they will usually stay in it and hang out with me that way.

Ball Pythons are nocturnal. I notice that if I take mine out during the daytime he is much more chill (probably sleepy) and in the evening or early morning he is more active.
