    Vet visit yesterday...

So I decided to take jelly beans in for a checkup the reason being is he has been in a shed state for 2 weeks now with no progress. My main concern is his eyes have been covered with this cracked looking skin for a while. I've been trying all the little tricks of putting him in a tupperware type container with a damp washcloth and put it over his heating pad and make it real humid which really looked like it would work but it didn't. His humidity has been high enough it's been between 60 and 85. I've basically had everything perfect for a snake in shed.
Anyway they did a fecal and he was loaded down heavily with protozoans..he got a dose of Flagyl (to be repeated in 10 days) and has eye ointment I apply twice a day. And the great news is none of this has stopped him from eating!:
He weighed 86grams. She thought he may be a tad under weight.

Flagyl to the rescue! TAKE THAT, you lousy protozoans!

Shedding can easily take 2 weeks, btw, but I'm glad you got him help for his eyes & all. Has he not 'gone clear' yet?

Have you tried Zilla Shed Ease? It's available at most chain pet stores and has really helped with a couple of bad sheds I've had - usually if a snake sheds shortly after getting it from the breeder or the time when I pity-purchased a BP from PetSmart with really bad stuck shed.

Once you are able to get the shed off you can work on maintaining humidity to hopefully avoid the headache in the future.

Sorry just read better and saw your humidity is great. Are you measuring it with a digital hygrometer or the stick on kind?

I suspect that his stalled shed is related to him dealing with an intestinal issue (protozoans)...apart from maintaining his humidity there isn't much you can do.
He should get back to his usual handsome self pretty soon.

Thanks, I was not aware of the Zilla product. I will certainly get some!

I feel SO blessed that thru all the shed & protazoan ordeal, he readily eats every week w/o any issues!
