Have Had my BP for a Year Now
Hi! I'm just here to gush that I'm a happy snake owner who has had his snake since November 27th last year. It was a bit of a rocky start since I got him so close to the winter months, which meant his first shed was a flaky one. Change in substrate cleared that up quickly.
He's a bit over two feet long now and weighs close to a pound, dancing around ~450 grams. His actual age is a year and three months, and I got him the day he turned exactly three months old. He's a banana and I love him dearly.
I was so scared I was going to mess up somewhere and he'd get sick, but he's been perfectly healthy this whole time!
Also, quick question to other long-time owners: since he's a growing boy, I find he's growing out of his rat sizes faster than I can feed them to him. He's on weaned rats that I actually just bought not too long ago, so I have several months worth left. I'm afraid he'll outgrow them while I still have a decent amount left. How do you guys deal with this?
