    Insulation update

Got some foam for Nick's enclosure, goes on the outside and some foil on top, let the light and UTH run all night last night while staying up with it to see how well it kept up with heat (I was exhausted by sun up haha). It did wonders! I also added a sheet over my window so while I still will have to be bundled under blankets to keep warm his viv stays at 80-87F (some spots are warmer cause of the lamp being overhead, not directly on the enclose but hanging) and the basking 90F.

Also let some of the substrate sit in there for a week to measure humidity and it really holds it nicely, nothing too high usually around 50-60% and that's without spraying! Gunna clean his tank and everything in it before he gets here very nicely and have it set up again just in time to get him, look him over and then pop him inside to settle and adjust.

Really excited, hoping the weather keeps up a bit so it doesn't get too cold to ship him, if it does I understand and would rather wait than put him at risk. I'll send plenty of pics when he arrives but understand that it is around 70F-75F in my apt so most won't be of him in my hands cause I want him to get in that basking spot so he can stay cozy.

Now if only I had a nice heat pad under my bed and a heat lamp over me HAHA ahhhh... *sobs*

Good job getting all set up for his arrival, I really hope the weather cooperates too.

I don't see what's stopping you from using a heat pad (for humans) and a heat lamp if you want to "bask"? You're allowed to be warm too, ya know.

I am gunna get myself a nice electric blanket at some point haha. I just keep forgetting while at Walmart getting groceries and other stuff. But hey so long as he will be warm I will be happy! That's enough to warm me for now.
