    New pics of Emma

We went over last week to get her moving a little and take some pics. She is doing great; my trainer and his son have been riding her around and she is learning.
Here she is in her stall, where she was quietly resting before we came along to make her work

Then I got her moving in the round pen. She was really exuberant since she had not been worked with that day.

A funny pic Mark took while she ran by him:

I let her cool off, and Mark let her have a tiny bit of grass; she hasn't been on grass in months so it would not be good to let her have a bunch.

Your thoughts? She is really losing the excess weight she'd put on loafing around all summer; we are working on the muscle tone!

Nice pics Gin! I know you are just awaiting the day you can ride her yourself! She's a beautiful girl. Seeing the pics make me want to move to the country and get one myself. Of course I have minimal experience with horses, but I still love them.

Are you doing any long-lining/ground driving with her? Excellent way to build muscle tone & balance & also get some training basics down. She's a lovely filly!

She's beautiful, and she looks good.

*sigh* I really need to get myself a good trail horse.

    Re: New pics of Emma

I have been doing some long lining with her. I like to get her warmed up with a walk, and then go into a trot. her trot is nice; she's nice and smooth with a rider, but when she's not backed, she gets this real "show offy" trot; i call it her Stud Trot, hehe. She is great about changing directions in the roundpen; I usually don't use a long line, but let her free-lunge, and she does not crowd me or move from the perimeter of the pen.
I should be able to get on her sometime in the next few weeks.
She is still at my tainer's place; it kills me to have to leave her and go home! I would just spend my whole day grooming, leading her and talking to her if I had that choice
