First snake! Ignis, or just "Iggy" (Cinnamon Enchi Ghost)

I went to Repticon in Costa Mesa last month tentatively aiming for a BEL as my first pet snake, and instead fell in love with this little guy at Todd's table (Unbelievaballs).

He's been gradually settling in over the last few weeks, and is showing a rather inquisitive little personality.

I’m partial to BEL’s too but he’s very cool.

    Thats a good looking snake!
My first goal was to produce Bels and I did it, but discovered I like color and pattern more.

If he's a good eater then you have the perfect snake !!

Possibly one of the most beautiful snakes I've ever seen !!

Re: First snake! Ignis, or just "Iggy" (Cinnamon Enchi Ghost)

Thanks so much, everyone! Iggy's been with me for almost a month now, and so far so good. He's a really awesome little dude - tolerates handling well, seems comfortable in his tub set-up, and is not excessively shy or irritable.

@Zincubus, he actually has a pretty good appetite too. The breeder had him on live mice, and he's readily taken the same for 3 feedings so far (even the most recent one, where I only noticed afterwards that he was looking conspicuously more greyish and is likely going into shed soon). With that said, after he's done with this shed, my plan is to have him make the mouse-->rat fuzzy transition soon, and ideally the live-->frozen/thawed transition not too long after that. This might turn into a battle of wills for a while, as he was not particularly keen on the one time I tried offering a thawed mouse first. I will have to prepare myself to be patient!

I'm not a huge fan of orange ghost but they do have some really nice examples and that is one of them. And a great first ball python as well congrats.

You made a great choice IMO- he's a knock-out! And the "battle of wills" will be worth it...you sure don't want him getting chewed up, but I don't think you'll have that
much trouble if you make sure the prey is warm, & use tongs to slightly move it to simulate a live rodent.
