Halloween surprise

Ok so story time. I get home from work and Medusa was hanging out of her hide like so. I keep going about my business for a few min when i went back in my room she still hadn't budged. I thought it was kinda funny and that was when I took the picture. I keep doing my thing and a good 15 or 20 min go by. I go back in there and she still hasn't moved an inch. So now I'm wondering what's going on and try tapping the glass and was even looking to see if I could see her take a breath or something. Nothing. So now I'm starting to worry a bit and take the top off. I reach in and absolutely nothing till I touched her head then she finally moved. I was seriously starting to think she died in that position while I was at work. The glass must be a comfy pillow I guess.

Hey, I suspect that our snakes are playing scary tricks on us today! One of my 11 year-old Florida rat snakes was stretched out in her cage today with her head
at a really weird angle...I've never seen her lay this way, and just like you, I couldn't see her taking any breaths either. I got my flashlight to check for her pupil
response, but that was inconclusive, my battery was fading out. Finally, she decided "enough was enough" & she moved to one of her normal places & postures.
Whew! Thanks Tapanga! I needed that...

I'm glad you had a happy ending too. I thought for sure that I had screwed up the husbandry or something and killed her somehow. Nothing like going from haha, to worried, to panic, and back to haha again to get the blood flowing.

Yes, glad they're both OK. Tapanga usually sleeps curled in one of her hides or in the basket wired into her branches...the way she was sprawled the length of
the cage & with her head at a weird angle, well I've never seen her that relaxed (for lack of a better term?) before. And she's had no health issues & she isn't
"old" by any stretch, though all the dud eggs she & her sister churn out every year without ever breeding are enough to give ME gray hair, if not either of them?
