I think someone is pulling your leg about the snakes age. Even basically starving the snake is not going to stunt it enough to make an average 10-14 foot snake into a 3.5 foot snake. That snake looks like a baby to me by the shape and size of the head. Caesar looked like that as a 5 month old baby when i got him.

No way that animal is that old. Also every 4 feet of snake you want an extra person. 1-4 ft 1 person, 4-8 ft 2 people, etc. That's the general rule. I handled my larger guys solo, But I have also had hit and wraps on me when I had other people that saved my life. Happened twice with larger retics with some insane food response missing their meals and finding my arm instead. Just be safe

Thanks all... That's odd, I recognized the website from an image he sent me so it's not like the guy even said he bought it from goretics.co.uk do all dwarfs grow that quickly then? Maybe he has issues feeding?

I've just spoken to goretics and he has said their dwarf male breeders for genetic strip are under 6ft. Most of their breeding mainland females are under 16ft. The business has been going a long time and alot of effort has been put in line breeding smaller retics. The genetics are dwarf but they are alot smaller than most.

From my research a Selayar locale is an 8-13' retic that is where genetic stripe came from, so is a 6' male full grown that hard to believe?
Maybe he is longer than estimated from the pics, I agree he looks tiny for his age tbh but the guy seems genuine. The seller is gonna try to find the original order info from goretic for me tonight .... Update on the progress later.

Re: 75% dwarf retic male size?

I agree that something does seem a little off with the age and size. One of mine is a combination that should result in the smallest of retics and is still bigger than the estimated length of this snake at around the same age.

It's a mine field if your not buying from a reputable dealer isn't it.... Save a few quid privately then get a massive snake you don't want.... Confusing...

Well you lot was putting me off this idea and I swung into my not so local highly regarded reptile store on the way home from work.... I didn't expect anything overly interesting but bam.... Male sd retic 100% het genetic stripe up for the same price £190...
After one guy being scared to open the box (the guy who feeds him lol) I wasnt having high hopes, he slid the rub out and the little dude latched on to the side of the box LMAO.
I thought well this isn't going well, the shop owner then came down and said what's wrong they are as good as gold, straight out and put him in my hand...
The owner said I'm gonna make you an offer you can't refuse £100!!! Half price!? He was right haha.
He was very placid once out.
He has a fantastic reputation and said that he is as close to a full Sd as can be and carry the 100% het gs... He has had them a year and hadn't wrote the percentage down but I fully trust him.
The store is cold blooded in rainham London.
Tbh as much a I love genetic stripe their natural colour has always impressed me too.
At the end of the day I'm very happy and considering the questions over the gs it's likely a much safer bet.
Pics when I'm home, he is cb17 and around 3ft.
