DIY Hide ideas?

Any ideas? My bp is about 3 1/2 ft stretched out. Hes about 2 years old and I cant find any diy hides big enough for my baby

Hi. I am currently making two hides out of styrofoam, grout and water sealer.

I just have to apply the sealer and I will be done.

This actually looks very nice! What do you use to soften thos sharp places after cutting a hole?

I just use snipes to round the edges and they are fine.

Food storage containers work as great bases for hides! I used apoxie sculpt and fake leaves to build over it then used sealant. As mentioned above, styrofoam works well too with grout or foam coat. Just make sure whatever sealant you use is water-based and non-toxic. You'd want something that's at the very least water resistant but water proof would be ideal.

This was my bp's favorite hides for a while until he outgrew them. Surprisingly he preferred them over the RBI hides! He loved having them half burried under substrate.

A new kitty litter pan is easy to cut a doorway into...& if it's a bit too large, crumple a few paper towels* to stuff inside...snakes love to snuggle into such things,
especially because you can add privacy. (partly block the doorway, so it's really private & dark inside)

Terra-cotta flower pots or the drip pans for the pots. Hold heat well and you can give them a nice soak to boost humidity for a few days. I either drill out at sand the bottom and place them upside down, or seal the drain hole with a bit of hot glue and repticarpet and drill a hole in the front.

Yes, these too...I've done the same thing, right down to sealing the hole w/ aquarium silicone. Another thing I've used for snakes are those large terra-cotta strawberry
pots, with the multi-opening ledges: they get a kick out of climbing in, on & thru the holes, peeking out, hiding in the bottom...just be sure it cannot be tipped, these are
heavy but a strong snake (like a gopher snake) can topple them easily. Also, heavy bodied snakes like BPs would get stuck as they grow to adults...these are best for
snakes that keep a more slender build for life.

You can use a soldering gun (like you'd use to melt ventilation holes in tubs with). Only do this with good ventilation though-
plastic smoke is quite toxic, so do this in the garage or outside on the porch.
