    Velvet the harlequin

    Happy Friday!
Velvet shed, so while cleaning, I snapped some photos. They don't do her justice but it's very hard to accurately capture pink/red tones in boas.
Her mom, Zahara, is my high pink normal and her babies are usually clean with keyhole saddles and nice arrow shaped heads.

    I think she's very pretty

Both her and her sister Candy have these deep steel eyes, there's a stripe of brown running through the middle

She was ready to go back to her enclosure

"Why can't I get in here?!"

'Cause yours is one level up! Gave her a helping hand : )

    Thanks for looking!

    AbsoluteApril,

Beautiful Boa! I imagine there is much more nuance in person, but she's purdy! Behira is the same way, her iridescence and her richness do not come through well in photos as opposed to in person. Subtle beauty is rarely captured well in photos. Always better in person to properly appreciate it.

    How old is she?

    Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the nice comments! You can see how dark she was when I first took her out and how she lightened up at the end.

I don't normally take pics when feeding but this is the second time I gave these girls rabbits (7-9oz) instead of a large rat (always f/t); the first time they were hesitant but this time Velvet took with so much gusto I had to snap a pic. Look at that coil! Go girl!

Candy didn't have quite as much gusto but still not bad. A mouth full of floof. I'll do a separate thread for more pics of her, she's a hypo harlequin with a very yellow colored belly
