90 hot spot or ambient ...?

i have 2 boas and I keep an 88 hot spot ambient side is mid 80s I keep a cool side temp of 76-77. My snakes often prefer the cool side with a warm up when needed. It’s been working well for me and really allowed them to full thermo regulate.

You need to het 2 hides in there. Preferably identical so the snake doesn’t choose

Hot spot is 80 but hot side ambient is 90?
whatnare your heating elements. Are they controlled?

Something isn’t making sense with your numbers. Are you using a strong overhead heat source and then a heat mat set low ?

No you just didn’t read my sentence correct . English isn’t my strong suit. What I meant is. My ambient is 80 my hotspot is 90

I've never have had mites, but I don't see anything in the picture that looks unusual.

What's the temps in the enclosure?

Males sometimes like it a little cooler.

I don't know if this will help Columbia low 43f with tomorrows high of 62f.

I think he's in the water because he's too HOT??? 90* is too warm for boas, both "hot side" & ambient (80*) need to be several degrees lower.

Cannot tell if any mites from a still photo...mites move, they're tiny specks the size of the head of a pin, in black/brown/reddish color. I don't see any in photo, but that's
not a guarantee...good sign that none came off when wiped w/ damp cloth though.

It's stressful to take away their hides (& you wonder why he wouldn't eat?)...you should have just made a temporary hide for the newcomer from a cardboard box
or from a new cat-litter-box, or similar item. Many things can work.
