    Herpstat 6 questions

So I haven’t been posting a lot lately been busy with work. But anyone have experience with the 6? I pulled the trigger yesterday after having another surge on the house and it blowing out one of the jumpstarts and thankfully Odin was on his cool side. It was reading 125 degrees. I was at work and my husband caught it. Well for peace of mind I told him to unplug all the jumpstarts and they can deal with ambient temps till the new stat gets in tomm. I just wanted to see about some input. I’m using all zoomed UTHs on all 6 enclosures.
Here’s a pic of Anubis just because she was being “cute” lol

I have a Herpstat 6. Currently only using 4 of the 6 probes.

I love it. Temps are rock steady.

I can't help with the Herpstat 6 as I've never had one, but a fast and cheap safeguard to prevent a UTH from overheating if your thermostat fails is to put a dimmer switch between the thermostat and the heating appliance. The dimmer should be set so that the appliance will go to 95-98*F, hot enough to be uncomfortable for your snake so you notice a change in behavior, but not so hot that your snake will get burned.

Then you set the thermostat so that your heat tape is around 90*F.

    Re: Herpstat 6 questions

I do not have a 6 but use 2 4's and had a power surge a couple months ago - no issues. I just ordered a 6 so I expect the same from that unit. Good luck with yours!!!!

Yes Zoomed UTH will work with Herpstat 6. As long as you stay below the maximum allowed power for Herpstat 6 it will be fine. It comes with 6 two-prong plugs on the back.
