    Can't figure out what happened!

Anyone know what would cause this type of deformation in a hatchling? Pastave x Mojave pairing

Your image is not showing but i pulled the url and think i found it. Those are kinks. Sometimes they are genetic, but with that pairing it should not be. Possible other cause if there is more than one that looks like that would be high temps. If there are not more then you can chalk it up to being just a problem with that animal. It happens sometimes.

For those whoe want to see it the link to the image page is https://photos.app.goo.gl/xppKBNaE8vdgv4Ui9

What happened is NATURE, because you breed to animal together does not mean you have a guarantee of healthy thriving hatchlings, some die during incubation, some die as they crawl out of the egg, some have minor to severe deformities.

Pair the same animals again next season see if the outcomes are different and if they are not just do not breed those animals, at least not together.

Re: Can't figure out what happened!

I hear yah... In incredibly frustrating though. Trying to sell babies to add to my collection and build something decent. Not easy to do as a father of two sole provider for the family. Then have things like this happen.

I have done tons of research and have kept reptiles for about 20 years. New to BP breeding though and this will be a set back.

I hear the nature remark but it's more than that if you only have a few animals and are trying to build something.

And sadly the more animals you will own and breed the more heartache and setback you will encounter it’s part of breeding, a lot of people may think breeding is easy and all rosy but it’s not at least not always, that what happens when dealing with living creatures, and you just need to focus on the positive not the negative.

    There is always next year.
