Thank you guys! It was definitely amazing that she took it right away. Fingers crossed that all the feedings are that easy

Re: First ball python
She is in a plastic tub right now. We have her two hides (one on the cool side and one on warm) and her water dish. Her substrate is coconut husk. My husband lifted her hide to feed her, which I just read today that your not supposed to do that Whoops. Thankfully, she ate anyway.

You're off to a great start! Beautiful snake, & thank you for feeding f/t & obviously "doing your homework" ahead of time.

Last Sunday... Repticon Kissimmee? I picked up 4 of my own there. Congratulations and Happy Belated Birthday to your little man! And good job on getting yours to eat for you especially switching to f/t. 2 of my big girls are still adjusting and haven't eaten for me yet but they should be getting ready to feed soon.

Good eye. That is a nice animal. It is great that this is something you can share with your child. My snakes are a family project. Everyone in my house has a "job" with the animals and the effort is one giant family affair. It is a good time for bonding without the interference of technology. My youngest daughter now seven knows the name of every animal that is being kept and can pretty much ID a three gene snake with no problem. It is great for them because they are learning a little about genetics, animal husbandry and business in a fun way.
Honest, I only need one more ...
