    Lucy the Diamond/Jungle Carpet Python

Figured I should start a thread for her. I've had Lucy for a little over a year now.

This is one of her old pics:

And this is a recent one (sorry about the ugly tape right in the middle of the picture). That's the same branch she's sitting on for scale.

She's 472 grams and approximately 48" long now and I'm in the process of getting her new bigger home ready for her to move into. This will also free up her current tank for a possible new resident - I'm planning to go to the Daytona reptile show next month.

No, that black is the top of her black plastic hide box. The heat tape is under the tank.

Yeah, I was really happy to find her, she's a beautiful mix of jungle and diamond looks.

I think they mean the tape on the branch, holding the probe down. If you want to hold something down without tape, zipties are good. But that kind of tape is a big ol' Nope and a disaster waiting to happen, if it's inside the enclosure (that's how it looks from the photo, at least).

OK, I see what you mean now. Yes, that was scotch tape - I had a probe there to check the temp but it was removed earlier today when I took everything out of the tank for cleaning since I didn't need it anymore.

I hadn't heard that scotch tape could cause a problem (it's never gotten stuck on her before) but I'll make sure to avoid it in the future - thanks for the tip.

Although scotch tape isn't as adhesive as some others, tape of any kind inside an enclosure is definitely something to avoid moving forward.

You're carpet is a s mokeshow though! Very nice!!
