Jungle Carpet Help!

I have a jungle carpet python. He stopped eating for about 4 weeks than ate the next week and is now back to not eating. Today will be the 3rd week, he isn't losing weight or looking skinny but he hasn't been coming out of his hide the past 4 nights. A few days ago (3 i think) he dulled and got the milky shed eyes but he has yet to actually shed. I know they clear up before the shed but he has been clear for 2 days now. I've been have a really hard time finding anything about these snakes from temps to humidity to even how big they get so I'm really worried something isn't what he needs and I'm not doing something right. If need be I can post a picture of his tank and him. I'm just really worried and don't know what to do. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated.

Look harder, there are oodles of websites and info on carpet python care, they are a very common snake, and jungles are one of the more popular forms.

They can sometimes take a few days to shed after going clear, just make sure the ambient humidity is 70% or so and it should happen soon.

Temps should be 85f hot spot with 78f cool side with jungles, I've kept a few carpets in the past and find that these guys like humid warm conditions, but not terribly hot. They usually get about 6-7ft but sometimes make 8.

My snakes often take 5 days or longer after clearing from the milky stage to shed. Nothing to worry about. That's why he isn't coming out.

As soon as the eyes clear up just start spraying the Viv well , morning , noon and evening until it actually sheds the skin . As mentioned it could take anything up to a week to shed .

As the others have said, mine is the same way - He takes a few days after clearing up to finally shed. Just keep that humidity up and everything will go well.

My carpets are my garbage disposal snakes, but they typically don’t eat when they’re in shed. As others have said, nothing to worry about there.

You don’t need the “jungle” in your search terms when looking for information, just “carpet python”, as they almost all have the same care - the exceptions are Diamonds, who need cooler temps.

“The Complete Carpet Python” is a great book, I highly recommend it! Us carpet python junkies can be found in the Morelia sub-section down a couple lines from this one.

Yurlunggur/Bruce, my JCP, is 3 years old, a bit over 1500 grams, and 6-7 ft long (getting a length measurement is a challenge). He looooves the jungle gym and basking shelf in his AP cage, and I rarely see him down on the floor. Definitely give yours something to climb on! 20 minutes after posting he came out and he ate as soon as mouse was offered. As for temps ans humidity, I have them there they are suppose to be. Thank you all for your help!!!
