Oh and i forgot to mention, I would take the boa though. Might just be a common or mutt but i love the 2 tone color to him.

I'm still considering it. It's sounding like they want rid of the boa, so I may get a good deal.
I wasn't really planning on another snake for a few months though. Was hoping to get my enclosure situation sorted out first.

Heck, if they sound like they are wanting to get rid of the boa, see if you can score some kind of deal on the boa and then just one cage. A 36x23x14 isnt going to last all that long with a boa but it will let you try out the Proline to see how you like them plus give you a temporary cage for the new boa. if you end up liking the Porlines and decide you want them, you can order them from Ed at Constrictors NW. But personally, unless you are getting a screaming deal on them, 36x23x14 is more of something for BPs than boas. They will work for juvenile boas but anything bigger, it's not going to be enough length.

And if you end up not liking it, then you can resell it and recoup your cash, especially if you get it for a screaming deal or just keep it for a quarantine cage for any new snakes you plan to get in the future.

Re: Redtail ID?? craigslist find: enclosure & boa

So photography clearly isn't the seller's strong suit, but I finally got some more pictures...

I'm guessing it's still next to impossible, but any chance locality can be determined by the pics?

She's a 2 year old female, so will clearly be my biggest snake when she gets a bit bigger. I'm just hoping to avoid a mainland female that's gonna end up huge...

It's a cage rack, all one piece, not singular cages stacked.

Yes, next to impossible to say what other localities or possible cross was in the background of the snake. Looks like a nice common boa (typically Colombia locality). Female raised conservatively should reach 6-8' on average.
    Boas are great!

Craig, I will chime in just to chime in. The boa looks real nice and so does the rack system.

I picked my Bredl's up when he was 1.5 years old and I was happy to have him a little further along than a baby. When I look for enclosures in my area (South Florida) I am always surprised by the lack of variety on Craigslist. Mostly glass tanks with the occasional homemade enclosure.

Good luck with whatever you choose but the deal seems tempting from here!

Impossible to know the genetics on that snake but i think she looks nice. And females dont get that huge unless you are powerfeeding them heavily. Rosey, my normal Colombian girl is probably close to 6 years old now and she 7 feet. They do get some girth to them though. While Caesar is longer, Rosey is definitely thicker and heavier.

You sure about that being a one piece? I swear i see lines between the cages. I know on the newer models (the one i had was a newer model from back around 2013-14), they are stackable. mine came with the rails installed on the outside roof of the cage so you could slide another cage on top and it would 'lock' into place.

Heck, Craig can just ask the guy if they are single cages in a stack or a 1 piece rack. If they are single cages, i still say try to wheel and deal. If it is a 1 piece rack, then get the boa and find a cage or try and lowball the rack some more and then use it for now, order a 4x2 cage and resell the rack

Up here is the same way. You rarely find cages for sale. Then when you do, they are usually beat to hell. I was actually surprised when i went to sell my Proline 4x2x14 with Pro Products RHP, no one was really interested. I started off with it set to $200 which i thought was a good deal as the cage new is $250 and the RHP is around $100. The cage was in great condition except for a few stains on the floor and the obvious issues with the cage itself like the sagging. I ended up finally settling for $100. On the flip side though, all my extra Herpstats i put up for sale after i got one of my Herpstat 6, sold like hotcakes. I had people beating down the door for them and i wasnt selling them for cheap either.

I did entertain the idea of selling my extra T8 to pay for Pats cage and i had a quite a few offers for it. I guess people like AP cages lol. I ended up just keeping it as i will probably use it for the cleaning cage when i have to clean one of the snakes, i can just shove them in there or maybe I'll use it for an unexpected new snake i buy on an impulse buy lol.
