PVC Enclosure

Hello Everyone!

I made a post a while back about whether I should get an AP/Boaphile rack or PVC enclosure and I decided to go with the PVC. Can I see some setups for your ball pythons? I really like the Boaphile 421 Townhouse(would that be good for two adult Bps?) what size enclosure would you guys recommend? As well as heating and such?

Animal Plastic T10 or the 2x4x15" by Reptile Basics are both excellent enclosures but make sure to get the LED option. Animal plastics is the go to company. Heating would be an 80 watt radiant heat panel by either reptile basics or pro-products and if you live in a cold climate a heat tape setup by either reptile basics or animal plastics (the sell preassembled heat tape appropriate to the cage size) would be perfect.

For thermostat go with a herpstat 2, no question it is the best hands down for pvc heat control and has 2 independent probes for control. Absolute best is a herpstat 6 if you can afford it as this allows control of ore enclosures as your collection grows without needing to buy new thermostats. The herpstat 6 controls 6 probes.

Would a t3 from AP work as well?

For a ball python? Not really. A t8 is pretty much the minimum size but the t10 is taller and thus easier to get into to clean.

Yeah looking back, it seems like it would be a tad small. How heavy would you say they are? Are they hard to move around?

SDA pretty much covered all the specs you'd want for your PVC cage. I definitely second her recommendations.

Here's my set up with a T12 from AP with a divider. RHP (Pro Products) + UTH (Ultratherm), Herpstat 2, sliding glass doors with locks and LED lights. All I'm super glad I went with. Three hides, two matching RBI ones on the bottom (hidden under plants) and a custom made one on top of the ledge. Other half of the cage is currently unused until my bp grows a bit more.

Super light. Pretty easy to move around and oh boy, was I glad for that when I had to move apartments with my cage. Especially up and down stairs!
