Dumerils boa sleeping issue
Hello I don't know if my boa is sleeping or not but twice I seen him laying down but he'll turn his head like how we'd sleep on a pillow. He eats every 2 weeks, poops normally, husbandry is fine and he doesn't throw up, have seziures, flip etc... He's a happy healthy snake and I don't handle him often I'm just a bit worried.

That’s the least of your worries.
Wait until he gets into contorted position and looks dead. That will get your heart racing.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Re: Dumerils boa sleeping issue
It seams most of my snakes prefer to eat in their water bowl. I have seen them even drag it to the bowl. I have often wondered if this was a way of washing off their prey before chomping down on it?

Re: Dumerils boa sleeping issue
Thats really interesting cause all of the snakes I ever have had refuse to eat anything remotely wet lol. They look at me like dude you want me to eat wet fur, go dry that please.

Boa do weird things, makes you wonder how they sleep when they have there coils piled on top of there head, Ive seen one of mine coil there food and hold it under water for what seems like ages. I hate when they cool and looks like they have snapped there neck, lol and just stay there for half hour and your worried they have and then decide to eat no problem

Yeah, and what really gets me is when I can’t tell if they are breathing or not. Then I get real close and figure about where the lungs are and study hard.

Re: Dumerils boa sleeping issue
Well our Dumeril's decided to climb his branch the other day.
Silly Draco, branches are for arboreals
He's my favorite of all my snakes - but shhhh don't tell the other ones.
Too Many...
That's what my wife says

Re: Dumerils boa sleeping issue
I posted earlier this week about finding my dumeril boa laying upsidedown except for his head was turned correctly. It freaked me out - first time ever seeing that. He was fine though.
