Some are more prone to pushing in clear front caging and won't in tubs. Some are the opposite and will push when in tubs but not in a cage. Some will push when the enclosure is too large, some will push when too small, some will push when it's just right but they won't when in something that is either too big and yes, some won't when in something 'too small'. Some push for fun, some push for food. Some don't push at all.
Sometimes giving them something to 'play with' will stop, one of the males is a pusher around breeding season, we give him a 2 liter bottle with some water in it and he'll push that around his cage instead of spending all his time pushing at the doors.
I wish a had an answer for you.
I think if there was a magic way to get them to stop pushing all retic keepers would be happy!
Hopefully yours will cool off once used to the new enclosure.
Play toy for a retic? How cool is the concept? Love it! wonder how they would react to a mirror?
well the new enclosure is significantly bigger, its now his forever home hopefully... he wasnt pushing this morning so i think thats good, he was in a hide. i hope he adjusts quickly..... i tried to give him a rat last night but he didnt take it.... oh well, he'll eat when he is hungry.
