    Feeding blind

Feeding day apparently came at Lucy's blindest, her eyes having just gone blue. And boy was my little derpus excited!

Unfortunately she didn't bother looking for the face and just nabbed the rat as soon as she registered where it was.

Here is her valiant effort at eating it from the side and her attack on its rear (lucky he wasn't alive for that).

After coiling back around it and doing a bit of a dance she did manage to get things right way round. She even dropped him into her water dish first to rinse off the substrate it had picked up from her dragging it around.

Tldr - such a smartie and yet such a derpus.

I don’t feed when my snakes are blue unless I’m the one who is blind and don’t notice at the time. Even with clear eyes I believe all of my snakes have been just as derpy at eating, even as adults. I guess sometimes they like to play with their food.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.
