Went to petco and saw this

Yes yes yes I know....me and petco....lol well it seems I’m not done, this is another location but let’s get this going again....

I have a video of it as well, here this little guy was just stargazing and then went into full on corkscrew....super sad that they had them out like that...most people off the streets don’t even know anything about the spider gene so to an outsider they’d be like if wow it’s really active...when in fact it’s not a good thing....this is the second time I’ve been here and saw the two of them like this...both are really bad. I’ve never seen spiders do this in person till like two weeks ago and omg...it’s heart breaking to see it. Also this is the third time I’ve come in and had to bring it to their attention that their flipping RTB has mites AGAIN! Yes their management will be notified.

Omg... breaks my heart I hate seeing them like this! Anything we can do? What location if you don't mind me asking? I know these stores may try, but they need to try way harder or stop selling animals in general! I know there are stores way better than others, but... Ugh, I'm sorry you had to see that. I'm glad you brought it to their attention, but who knows if they'll do anything! It's disgusting that they even sell animals in that condition

Walk in and just say in a firm tone "manager now!"

You may end up being banned form the petco if you keep this up LOL!

Stress can make neurological issues far worse. So its no surprise to see those poor spiders at their worst. Sigh..

    That is pretty severe.

Probably brought on (the severity) from the stress of co-habit with another snake, wide open and light, most likely wrong temps and humidity. OY

What are you reporting them for?
Spider/combos wobble, it's severe, but that's what they do. It's not like the store can anticipate when it might corkscrew? Or are you just saying they shouldn't be selling spider morphs at all?
I'm just confused so asking to get clarification.

So the animal mgr can choose to order normals, or morphs. They clearly ordered morphs and the company will supply what they have from the gourmet rodent. The store does not know what morph will come in. And I can tell you most people don't know the spiders have this. Now, am I defending the store, yes and no. While I firmly believe we should not even sell reptiles they have no control what comes in. If they don't know they should have had that animal at the vet because that would be protocol. I know being an animal manager at Petco because I have done research and also have all of you. I would have taken steps to avoid getting a spider.

not really about the spiders that I'm concerned with really, BUT they are right next to an RTB that has a mite infestation and well as we all know, they travel lol and the associates had no idea (again), its always an issue with mites at that store cause I caught them on some Pinstripes and the RTB last time. I was just sadden with the Spiders...I really applaud those of you who have any spider morph...I wouldn't be able to handle that attribute of them. I love a lot of the combos, i just couldn't do it.
