Courtship vs Combat Behavior
I took out my two male Western Hognoses to compare sizes and my smaller one started to (what I assume was) court with my larger male. He started making those twitchy movements and then looked like he started to try burrowing under the larger male before laying on top and continuing with the twitching. I separated them rather quickly, I didn't want to cause stress to either of them.
I tried researching this and couldn't find anything that showed me what the Western Hogs malexmale combat behavior is like. I was wondering if it's similar to the courtship behavior and if he was trying to show off his tough man skills, or if he was actually trying to court with my larger male.

The rubbing and twitching you oberserved is a courting behaviour, are you sure both are males?

Yes, I have two males and a female.

Well it's not uncommon to see breeding behavior even between two males, in some species they will even go as far as locking if given the opportunity.
