Shed Art...?
On a serious note there is someone on this forum who decorates buttons with snake sheds and they look marvellous .
I actually promised to send them my old skins but I've since lost the contact details and also the bag of old snake sheds

You have a Royal Ball python I presume - mine are usually the same ..
All my others including the Corn snake , Kings , Rat snakes , Burm , Boa , Retic are usually good .
Oddly enough my Mexican Black King snake sheds look kinda normal but sorta charcoal black !!!

Long time ago, I worked with someone that did fly fishing and I'd give him shed skins from my corn snakes, he'd fashion them on his flys. I don't know how successful it was (wet shed tends to get droopy and saggy right away) but he kept asking for them so I suppose he must have had some success.
At herp society meeting a while back, biologist was asking for shed skins so I started saving some from various species. Drying them out then folding and storing in a zip lock, like how GpBp posted. The meetings changed to a new location and I stopped going, so I'll probably toss the shed I kept. This is my favorite though, especially since she's passed now, my big boa Autumn:

A tip, if they're fresh they're surprisingly durable, for Pylox's fifth shed I wanted to keep it but it had poop in it, so I just sprayed the shed down, then carefully made a small cut and took out the poop, after which I soaked the shed in warm soapy water and left it to hang and dry. A tip though, try to use drinking water or bottled water to wash it, I noticed that tap water gives it a faint, but noticable fishy smell

Anyways I just don’t want to mess up or ruin this as I think it’s something I’ll want to remember and have forever as I move through this hobby.
I got my first shed Friday and again it’s my first so I’m no expert but it was full solid and lovely.
Anyone do anything with their sheds? Preserve them in anyway? Anything crafty ?
thanks
I can never save mine as there is normally poop in the shed.
