    I want a freeway!

The relatively new freeway combo morphs are amazing! My favorite morph out there today. (asphalt yellowbelly for those that don't know). What is the best way to get one? I am not buying any more snakes for while due to budget constraints, but would it be better for me to save up and just buy a freeway, or would it be more affordable to buy an asphalt and a yellowbelly and breed them together? Then of course, I would have a whole cluthc, and this is more exciting. Only problem being, is it seems difficult to find a guaranteed asphalt morph, since they look exactly like yellowbellies but are more rare.

I would like to hear what the experienced breeders here think about it.

I agree they are Amazing!! I got the chance to see them in person for the 1st time yesterday at the Atlanta Repticon. Tom Harbin (http://www.threptiles.com/index.php) had several beautiful freeway combos for sale.

I'm not an experienced breeder, the total opposite actually. But freeways are on market now for around 1000 dollars your side (states). How much would a proven 100% asphalt cost? Then the YB and the rats/ energy to get them to size to grow? Its probably more time/ cost effective just to purchase one.

I'd imagine it would be far less fun and exciting though.

I love the thought of a pastel freeway DG.

I like them too, Choptank had a Freeway at a reptile show I attended in December. It's still available..

    Re: I want a freeway!

I always wonder this about the more expensive morphs. Cant decide myself.

I guess it depends on your starting point... getting babies or adults of the base morphs you need.
Time is the biggest factor imo, waiting 2+ years for the babies to reach size, even then you may not get what you want, or the female wont go. Lots of factors. Or get rtb adults then its just a matter of months and luck, but cost more than babies would.

Set aside $40 a month for 2 years and buy the snake haha!

I originally planned to do the asphalt and yellow belly and make my own, it just isn't worth it. I only paid $100 more for my freeway male compared to what 100% asphalts are going for. You can save money going the asphalt/yb route but that's a huge risk of wasting time. I already have a few female combos with yellow belly, some already breeding. So now instead of growing out a snake that doesn't look much better than a normal, I'm enjoying a freeway and now next year I'll be creating my own, new, freeway combos instead of just a freeway.

Going to put your freeway to a yb dg? A funky bi product of that project would be to see what dg ends up doing to the inevitable ivorys especially if there is fire/pastel thrown in.

    Re: I want a freeway!

Thanks, good points here. By the time I would have produced a freeway or even a few, the price will have come down and I could have just bought one.

I personally would just buy one. But i also dont breed. But then again, how much money could it cost to try and hit the numbers. I just looked on Morph Market and saw a female for $950. Thats not bad really. Just buy it man!!! BUY IT!!!!
