    What a turn around

    Charlotte. Spider female.

    Justin, mums friend.

Justin is deathly afraid of snakes. But he supports ours and has actually bought us a few. Justin squirms being in the same room as the snakes. His favourite though is Honey, the honey bee. She is not pictured.

Today, i walked in to talk to my mum, and Justin is here. He starts giggling as soon as i come in. Theyre both laying down in her bed watching tv. Hallmark. But Justin is all giggly. I kind of look at him weirdly and shrug it off. Then my mum laughs.

Justin was very proud of himself. He had taken charlotte out (shes not tiny either, shes 1300+ grams) and was now cuddling her. She was docile and laying on his chest/abdomen. Not once did she move. He was so pleased with himself. This is a guy who a few months ago gagged at seeing pictures of snakes and is now falling in love with them.

Charlotte is a special snake too. Her wobble is horrid, she eats whatever we give her but she has to try 3 to 7 times to get it (prekilled). Thats the only time its really bad otherwise its mild. Charlotte came to us in a 3 for 1 package. We wanted the pastel calico and the yellow belly female but charlotte was to go with them he wouldn't separate. Mum was going to give her to a friend who owns a shop. Well charlotte got to stay only because of her history. She was originally retrieved from a SWAT raid. She was in a 20 gallon tank that had 15 other snakes, 8 of them dead. No water, underfed, malnourished, and close to death. She was rescued and the guy who we bought her from took her when he got the chance. He got her to eat and she was looking better. He was then moving to go be with his fiancee, so he posted all 3 balls for sale. We took the chance. Shes put on weight and looks great, though she still has some filling out to do. Shes the sweetest girl and shes found a forever home with us. She deserves to just relax until old age.

Bonus pic (posted with justins permission) ; hes surrounded by kahlee belle (calico blast), peter pan(pewter), honey(honey bee), and chief(banana).

Look at you - changing the heart and mind of a snake-fearing friend!! Lovely story, and especially lovely that you gave sweet Charlotte a forever home, where she has a Justin of her very own to occasionally cuddle with. Warms my heart!

Great story, and that HoneyBee has gorgeous banding! I love the reduced pattern/banded pythons!
