Frozen thawed has always worked for me just fine But I would feed live if that snake was to refuse all else...

Serious question is are the rats when thawed hot enough for a good heat signal? Justed watched Balls2u on YouTube show his feeding thawed method. And it was interesting.

I warm mine up with a hair dryer to about 95-100* F, whole body, not just the head.

Apologies for derailing your thread OOdaT, Dante is awesome!
just wanted to say, the live feeding worked. Godzilla hasn’t eaten a thawed rat in a month, and visibly lost weight. She’s been in hunting mode, trying to get out of her tub.

tonight I bought a hefty medium sized eat at the pet store and tossed it in her tub... BAM, she viciously contricted it within 2 seconds of it crawling in her tub!
she has taken a lot of thawed before, but it’s such a weak feeding response and she has been refusing dead rats for weeks.
shes a natural monster-killer like her namesake.

No worries lol. I had to assist feed him a couple of times. Finally I decided to try a live feeder. He struck it and killed it but did not eat it, then the following week I tried ft again and he struck, coiled and ate. Guessing the live triggered his instincts. Who knows.

The live medium rat costs $6+tax at the pet store, but the smile on my face after my precious monster ate, was priceless.

In all seriousness, I can’t afford to feed live, so I’m going to try them EXTRA hot with the hairdryer next time.

Hi , good luck with the hairdryer .... I've had 99.99% success with that method . The basics I've noticed are to feed in the evening , after dark and in very low light . I thaw either naturally or on a radiator / heat mat or for speed in very warm water ( in a bag to preserve the all important smell/ odour . Then at the last minute blast for a short while to get the mouse / rat to a decent temp and offer INSTANTLY as they cool down very quickly . Then if there's the very SLIGHTEST interest shown you're normally in business , if there's no strike just repeat the above exactly and offer again INSTANTLY , repeat until taken .

If there is absolutely ZERO interest then I wait for ten days before trying again but there is no handling or cleaning done in that time ...
