    Feeding inside the snake's enclosure is the far better way to go. The reasons have basically been explained already in the last few posts.

    Food aggression has been proven to be a myth. I've never been mistaken for food by any of my snakes.
    Substrate impaction only happens in the most extreme cases which are easily avoidable. Nobody cleans their food in the wild. They digest whole prey, a little dirt won't hurt.
    And most importantly, the added stress from being moved will NOT get a snake eating.

    Wait a few days and offer in the enclosure after dark. If the prey isn't taken off tongs just leave it overnight. Chances are it will be gone by morning.
