    First Refusal

After nearly two years, my ball python who eats everything and looks for more has refused a meal for the first time. He's already been restless for a month looking for the ladies. Teenagers...

Well, turns out mine's just being lazy about food rather than fasting for winter. He'll still eat if it's placed gently in front of his hide. Ridiculous.

Have you tried the hairdryer trick ?
Warm with hairdryer then offer instantly- dangle in front of their hides using tongs . Yours sounds perfect for this method - feed on low light in the evening .. warm and repeat as many times as it takes .

I did the time he refused. He's only ever refused once in two years though and ate this time, so I'm not concerned regardless. He just usually is more than eager to eat anything and everything and "kill" it himself. He frequently eats hanging upside-down out of the cage since he doesn't want to wait for me to move the rat into the cage. Turns out this time he didn't want it wiggled on tongs and just wanted it laid in front of him to eat at his leisure. He's over 1200g so it's not like a winter fast would hurt him even if he decided to do it.
