Strong smell in new house
I know this is the wrong place to put his but..I am new nd dont know how to start a thread....So I just bought a new house...and it is made fully out of cedar...it smells a little bit like cedar too (it's a cedar cabin). I have a clean air purifier on to clean the cedar out of the air..do you think the house will harm my 8 ptiles

Hey there!
Just go to the home page of this site, click the "Forums" tab at the top and select the forum your topic would best to under. Maybe "General Herp"? Then there is a blue button with a + sign that says post new thread, or start new thread, something like that, near the top left. Give your thread a title, type away, then post. Easy peasy.

I think the cedar aromatic smell of the either lumber or paneling is not going to be enough to harm any snake. You would need close physical contact to untreated (as in not kiln dried and fresh cut) cedar shavings to potentially cause long term harm to a snake. Simply housing them in a cedar lined cabin is not going to harm then unless that cabin catches fire and the snakes are caught inside as it burns down
