To be fair you've gained a bit of a reputation of derailing threads in the past to make them about you. There is nothing wrong with explaining yourself when it actually applies to you. Only Red can clarify but I'm pretty sure they were responding directly to OP's inquiry.

I think it would be Ball Pythons. Or "egg layers" in general.

While I'm not a patient person in general, there is something about waiting for the eggs then YAY>>>EGGGSSSS

Then you watch the eggs. And watch.

Then all of the sudden OMGOMG..a HEAD!!

Then you wait and you watch some more. As more get "revealed". It is like a drawn out x-mas. And sort of like a box of chocolates. You never know what you may get.

With Boas its like , plop. There they are. A gooey, slimy mess of cute babies with the occasional sort of gross big orange "thing" floating in it. yummy...LOL

I was lucky enough to get to observe a Rainbow Boa giving birth and watching the breeder taking the little ones out. It is fun indeed, but its over so fast..

ps. I'm grateful that so many breeders decided to breed snakes. While there is the occasional "bad breeder", overall, thanks to breeders the numbers on imports went way down. Those poor animals went to the wringer, lots of them died before even reaching someones home.

Plus, now we have nice, captive bred and born specimen that are healthy, beautiful and in most cases, colorful. Makes it so much easier to start with such an animal, rather then a stressed to death, parasite ridden (inside and out) starved and dehydrated animal that went through hell before getting here.

I see both sides of that argument being a boa person myself.

I am paranoid about my animals ending up in good hands when I hatch a new clutch or have a new litter of boas, probably more than some who just take the money and run. However, if someone is going to lay down GOOD money for a new snake, they probably know what they're doing. Either way I will ask about how they plan on caring for the animal before I sell it to them. When they start talking about a quality thermostat I usually subconsciously give them the green light as they cared enough at some point to spend $100+ on the heating requirements alone of their rack/enclosure.

On the other hand I presume you acquired your animals from a breeder yourself so someone obviously gave you a chance and it worked out

Being a GOOD breeder (quality, not necessarily quantity) gives one a tremendous opportunity to create GOOD owners !!!

I have bred both live bearers and egg layers, though neither boas nor pythons. I like the egg layers best. Zina10 nailed my reasons.
