your virtue has constraints like anyone else's. please don't judge.
The answer to your port would be: Any responsible pet owner!
You/We make the choice to bring animals into our home and care. Its no different than making the choice to have a child that you cannot afford.
If you cant have something set aside for a just incase fund then you probably shouldnt do either. The initial cost of the animal changes nothing, its called being responsible.

Good luck though, the odds gods are often kind.
I payed £30($39) for him. That's pretty cheap for a Pastel over here in the UK. Seems like i have myself a bargain. Lol. Het Pied or not, it's not that important to me. Was just curious about it. I could eventually end up with a Bumblebee though! Lol.

Re: Is Major a normal?
my het pied had very distinct peach blushing fading into the white belly as well as the crazy black tracks. The peach was very distinct, it was faded and blushed but clearly not "normal".
It is difficult to see here with the flash, but the green/brown fades to peach, then to white on his belly. Also notice the tracks. I wish I could capture the peach blushing with a camera, but it really only is distinct to the naked eye.
