The Pied Swiper Progression thread....week 1

Few recent pics. He is now 503g and just moved up from Rat pups to weaned rats. F/T - eats like a champ. I actually thought the rat pups were a little small so I got him five weaned rats and 15 of the next size up which I believe are small rats… Soon as I got them I put them in individual baggies and weighed them they range from 38 g up to 69 g but so far so good.

I also got him moved into his new AP cage T-10… Took a while to arrive but I am loving it so far… The heat and humidity or terrific and I spent some time customizing the cage using Styrofoam to create a Roman gladiator environment. I have another build thread right showed how I did some of the items in the cage. Turned out really good.

He took his first meal in the cage after a couple of days which made me very happy and he is much more out and about in the cage laying on the log entry and just seem so much more comfortable… The other smaller tank he was in the high 95% of the time that he really likes to explore and this was a great investment.

I also switched from eco-earth to reptile prime for substrate and really liking it… The eco-earth was a little too chunky for my taste.

Finish of a big yawn! Couldn’t take the pic fast enough:
