My BP Smells! HELP
I just got home from a 2 day trip away and my BP pooped and peed. I washed her off twice but she still smells really bad, and it's attracting flies to her! I'm worried she will get all bit up! Is there anything I can wash her with at home to get rid of the smell? Like dish soap? Please respond if you know anything! Thanks!

Did you clean and replace the substrate in the snake's cage? You can always give your snake a soak in luke warm water for about 15 minutes (supervised) but that really is unnecessary. Most times it is the enclosure that is causing the odor not the snake. All you need to do for a snake is take a mildly damp paper towel and wipe the snake down to remove any waste on it.
Make sure you disinfect the cage. Ball pythons should not smell normally. If the cage is fouled or bacteria have started to grow you can get an odor but as for a foul odor, that is pretty uncommon in a healthy snake.

I think you should thoroughly clean her cage! Maybe a hidden poop or pee somewhere in the substrate.
Ball pythons don't have a smell just by themselves.

I know. I checked, it's just the smell from her sitting in her pee. She has enough room to get out, bu she never does, she's fine though, the flies lost intrest.

I was told Johnson's baby shampoo is safe to use. Just use it sparingly.

If you don't want to give a full-on bath use some unscented baby wipes followed by some damp paper towels to remove any residual soap.

What kind of substrate are you using? I use coconut husk and never have that problem.
