Breeding "season"

I have read that in nature ball python breed in the winter season, and it seems most breeders wait until November. Is this really that important?
When do you know that it is a good time to introduce the male to the female? this is the part I am wondering about the most: The BEGINNING! (Sex)

In the wild the seasons are what dictate when "breeding season" begins. For most this is because of change in temperature and/or precipitation. With that said some snakes breed year round (African house snakes for example). Some snakes only breed once a year but do not require any kind of environmental ques. As long as the male and female are healthy and of proper age all you need to do is put them together.
Many ball python breeders are successful without a temp drop prior to breeding season. Some still do. Some breed at different times of the year. We paired ours last Nov and the female waited to ovulate until late July (eggs in the incubator right now).
Bottom line, you can do what ever you want but they will go when they are ready to go.

Regardless of when you pair you need to

Make sure your animals are ready

Be able to read your animals

Pair when the weather is favorable (rain, storm, snow etc, pay attention to low pressure)

I don't use a season, I breed year round as animals become ready, for proven females I start pairing them when at least 6 months went by since they lay egg and if they start building. For first time females I will introduce a male when they are ready even if follicular development has not started yet, this will help stimulate them.
