    Washington Breeders?

Hi, tis I again with new questions.
I know there is a show coming up in Puyallup, WA, but I wanted to know if you guys knew of any Washington breeders that dealt with black milk snakes and/or rosy boas. I'm not really interested in paying for shipping so that's why I'm looking for state local.

One more question. What's a good burrowing substrate that is pretty dry? I'm getting way too good of humidity and that's unfortunately not a good thing.

Aspen is definitely a good dry substrate choice. My rosys love it. I'd recommend chips over shredded though.

I don't know of any Washington breeders, but hopefully someone will chime in.

i haven't seen a local breeder for Black Milksnakes specifically. there are plenty who do breed the closely related Mexican Black Kingsnake (MBK) tho. at the October 2016 show, there were at least 4 vendors w/ MBK from WA to Idaho and Oregon. i don't remember all of them tho. i eventually chose to get my MBK from this guy who is from Idaho. his were the largest, most well started and "friendly" at the time.

HDI Reptiles produces Rosy Boas in small batches. They mainly breed BP's and Blood's, but all do breed limited numbers of Colubrids, Boa's and some lizards and Tarantulas. They also have a feeder side of their business called The Reptile Snack Shack. They relocated their storefront and some breeding operations to Sedro-Woolley earlier this year. Check them out: https://www.facebook.com/reptilesnackshack

oh and here's a pix of one of their Rosy's that had a perfect shed and pooped during one of the shows:

depending on where u live it might still be a long drive to visit one single breeder. i would definitely recommend checking out the show next month. u will find more variety and it's just really cool!

    RIP Mamba
