    Re: Short Tialed vs Blood

well i'll let ya know what i know about sumatran short-tails/ blood pythons as far as price goes. sumatran short tails cost a lil more then sumatran bloods (normals that is) and depending on the color of their heads the price gets higher the sumatran short-tails. for instance most normal sumatran bloods go for anywhere from 100$-250$ (check NERD lol) but the black bloods aka sumatran short tails can go for anywhere between 150$-300$ for tan heads and for the ones with chrome/black heads i have seen go for anywhere between 250$-500$!
im not a fan of borneos so i never really looked into their price range

as for the different sizes of the bloods/ short tails here is what i got from the NERD care sheets

    sumatran blood python:
Hatchlings approximately 12 - 16"+/-. Females average 4'- 6', males average 3' - 5' adult size. Maximum size is around 10 feet, although 8'+ specimens are considered large. Blood pythons are heavy, robust snakes that may exceed 40 pounds in weight as mature adults.

    Sumatran short-tails:
these snakes are the smallest of the blood & short-tailed python group; adults average 3.5' - 5.5' in length

    Borneo short-tails
Hatchlings approximately 12"+/-. Females average 3'- 5', males average 2' - 4' adult size. Maximum size is around 6+ feet & 25+ pounds.

    good luck

The true black short tails are harder to find overall (at least in my experience).
