How old should a ball python in a 36" 18" 18" cage be?

I am going to an expo in September in I have a large cage of course I will not get a hatchling but how about a 6 month to 2 year old? Or even just one that is around a good length because of it's feeding habits?

Not about age it's about weight and size, 500 grams would be the minimum for me, and even than close watch on behavior (including feeding behavior) will be necessary. By the time they are 500 grams they are less prone to stress and good feeders able to go without food for a while.
