Wet paper ?
I have got my little sstp today. He is a little bit miffed, because his brothers and sisters got food yesterday except him
In the breeders room I recognized he has the adult ones in big tubes or enclosures on wooden soil, but the small ones live in small tubes on soaking wet paper - really dripping wet and moist. Humidity is therefore really high. I asked why and he told me that the young ones dont drink enough and they need this wet surrounding....
Is this ok ? I put my little one 20 to 30 inch into his tube with wet viscose cloth/paper. Is this ok ?

I keep mine on dry paper (dunnage/unprinted newsprint) in a tub and he sheds fine.
Generally keeping a snake on wet paper towels is something I avoid, usually you'll want to give the substrate a chance to dry out for a bit.

Re: Wet paper ?
I asked the breeder again and he meant after a few sheds I can put him on dryer soil but when they are small their skin will gET wrinkled when their enclosure is too dry....

All of my Bloods and Short Tails (2015's and 2016's) have been doing great on newspaper with other crumpled up newspaper throughout for them to hide under and large water bowls that are big enough for them to soak in and everything gets misted down daily. The newspaper pretty much dries daily before getting misted down again. I haven't had anything but perfect full sheds. I do worry about them getting respiratory infections from all the moisture, but so far they seem to be doing great. Just make sure you have plenty of airflow in the tub...

Re: Wet paper ?
A pal of mine breeds short tails. The first set of babies were kept on dry paper, and he had a lot of trouble getting many of them to eat. After he started keeping hatchlings on wet paper, most of them were easy to get to take food. And by wet, I mean he pours a half cup of water into the plastic sweater box every day. After some months, the snakes can get by on dry paper.
These snakes are ambush feeders that live in wet lands in the wild, so it is not too surprising that the hatchlings require a moist habitat.

I've seen breeders keep hatchlings on wet paper but it isn't needed after the first few days, just high humidity. Definitely tiny for his age, did you get feeding records?
