TGR rack for ball, no light?

    Hello all,

Just looking to get some input on a rack. I'm looking at TGR racks for the fb-40 for my 10 month old male BEL.

They look wicked, but I'm puzzled by them not having any light even if just a little filtered through the tub. Will this be ok?

I've been doing some research and a lot of people seem to prefer a rack for keeping balls.

Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.

Why do you want a light? The ball python species certainly doesn't

I'm not set on a light, I just thought they needed a light cycle of some sort. I know they sit in burrows all day and hardly ever move. Just seeing what people's thoughts were. Thanks

    LIGHTING
Neither UV lighting or supplemental lighting is required for ball-pythons. They do well with ambient room light, so long as the light is not constant and some sort of day/night schedule is provided. Excessive lighting can induce high stress levels in these nocturnal creatures.
From the care sheet. Honestly the only time I would consider a light for ball pythons is if they are somewhere with no light at all. And even then I'd keep it pretty weak, just enough so they know when to come out.
