    Perfect Prey - First order

I received my first order from Perfect Prey today and am very happy with the order. It was very well packaged and still frozen solid when it arrived in MA from FL. They even included a free pen!

I had a few minor casualties (2 decapitated pinkies) but the rest of the order was in awesome shape. I would have liked a few more of the LG Adult mice to be in the 25-32 gram range (only 2 out of 25) but other than that I am extremely happy and will order from them again.

    Perfect Prey - First order

Overall I am happy with PP.

Yeah, sometimes I wish sizing could be different. But dealing with live critters (before they are killed) must be a hard business to balance and juggle without postponing orders and loosing business.

The way I look at it is, I'd rather have something to feed than none at all. So I'm willing to cut them some slack.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Absolutely. I was just nitpicking a bit, I'm 100% happy with my order and won't hesitate to order from them again.

    P.S. your freezer is fantastic

Re: Perfect Prey - First order

Hi OP! I have one quick question if you don't mind! I currently have 4 BP's and a Boa. I've been looking for a good website to buy my mice from and prefect prey has been one of the major places I've heard of. So my question(s) are 1. How many snakes do you have? 2. How often do you feed them? and 3. (if you don't mind my asking) How much was the total order including shipping? Any help would be fantastic!!!

Re: Perfect Prey - First order

@ MBPAR- I hope you don't me chiming in on your questions directed to the OP. I had some data readily available that I could share since the subject was brought up on another thread recently. You can use it comparatively if you think it applies. The shipping charges are a standard $30 on average. I have 8 snakes, a few more than you, but the average food costs per snake might be similar. I also have carpet pythons and bull snakes that don't take food breaks like a BP might. That could bring the costs down further. I feed all my snakes every 7-14 days. This is my most recent Perfect Prey invoice from early January and I've still got about 2 months worth of feeders.

The way I see it is $273 to feed 8 snakes for 6 months is less than $6 per month per critter. You can't beat that.

    Product Quantity Price
    Fuzzy Rats (25/Pack) (#Rat, Fuzzy (Frozen)) 1 $18.75
    Small Rats (15/Pack) (#Rat, small (Frozen)) 2 $45.00
    Large Rats (5/Pack) (#Rat, Large (Frozen)) 2 $27.50
    Rat Pups (25/Pack) (#Rat, Pups (Frozen)) 1 $25.00
    Weaned Rats (20/Pack) (#Rat, Weaned (Frozen)) 2 $50.00
    Medium Rats (10/Pack) (#Rat, Medium (Frozen)) 4 $70.00
    Day-old Chicks (25/pack) (#Day-Old Chicks (frozen)) 1 $9.75
    Cart Subtotal: $246.00
Shipping: $27.89 via FedEx Ground Home Delivery (2 days)
Out of state - No Tax: $0.00
    Order Total: $273.89
    3.0 Carpet Pythons, 1.1 Bullsnakes
1.0 Olive Python 1.0 Scrub Python,

I personally have 4 snakes that eat 3 different sizes of rat, but I can get by with less than $100 spent for 3 to 4 months.

@ Meerna- Sounds like roughly $6.25 per month/per critter. Not bad at all .

Great to see you had such a great experience! Perfect Prey is one of the places I'm considering ordering from as well (also half considering trying ASF)

My only question is, how do you (or others) separate the mice/rats? I'm worried about accidentally breaking off a limb or thawing the whole pack too much just to get a single mouse/rat and ruining the whole pack.

also how long would you say they keep in the freezer? About 6 months?
