    Need Some New Lids...

My corn snake recently escaped from his rubbermaid enclosure. The lid that came with it was securely fastened, but the sides *I discovered* come loosely up a bit. Not a lot, but enough for him to slip through. I keep my boa in the same type of enclosure and I know that it won't take much for him to push the lid right off.

The question is this: does anyone know of good homemade lids/materials I could use to make one for these plastic enclosures? The corn snake is in a 58 qt. and the boa is in a 94 qt. I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated seeing as I'd like to get this done ASAP.

I would not worry about making a lid....Just go buy some large paper clamps from an office supply or dept. store. That what I used to hold down my rubbermaid tops and they worked fine

here is a pic of the enclosure that I used them on:

You can always make one out of wood, but you need access to tools (Chop-saw, Circular saw, and/or table saw). Plus a way to fasten the side together (nails and/or wood glue). Do you have acces to these things? Personally for the larger snakes I would get a differnt enclosure because of the stregnth these creatures have. If not then it's time to weight down the the tops with something heavy (books, weights, be creative). If you do have access to the tools I would be happy to walk you through the building process.

    Re: Need Some New Lids...

My grandpa is a carpenter and I'm really close with the Tech teacher at the school so I would definitely have access to said machinery. Seeing as Kozma isn't big now, I think the plastic container will suffice. But from what I hear Boas grow 300% in their first year and his birthday is in November >_< I'd like to have the enclosure ready for when he needs it. Your help would be infinitely appreciated.
