Humidity keeps dropping

When I first got my snake, the humidity was absolutely terrible. It stayed around 40% at the best when I had aspen, but when I changed to cypress, it immediately bumped it up to around 70%, and I never had to spray down her cage.
However, it's been about a week now when the humidity is dropping, and I've begun to have to spray again. I'm never home all the time so I can't monitor her much besides on the weekdays! Not to mention, this morning I woke up and her humidity was at 50%, the lowest it's been in a while. I don't understand why it's being like this, do I just need to take the old out and put in some more?

(It doesn't help every time I spray, the next day it's dried right back up because of my lamps and the screen top, despite the fact I use syran wrapping on one end to help)

Lamps + screen top = desert environment. You're fighting the laws of physics and losing; the warm moist air will rise and the cool dry air will fall into the tank.

Get a tub, the Hefty 100-qt has the same footprint as a 40-breeder tank and is under $20 if you don't have the cash to get a PVC or melamine reptile enclosure. Add UTH + thermostat for happy snake.

50%-63% is usually where my tubs humidity fluctuates normally without spraying and water fish on the cool side.

50% is ideal, 70% at all time is too high and will lead to issues, to low or two high humidity can cause problems.

So, for the Melamine enclosures, how would I keep it warm? Would my lamp and UTH be useless? I see pictures without glass bottoms, and the entire top is closed off. I'm not sure I understand how it works, but I'd rather go for that than the simple tub, especially since I've got some money set aside

If you don't want a tub the next next thing would be a pvc enclosure like an Animal Plastics T-8. If you want the benefits of a tub with the look of a display this would be your best option.

So, for the Melamine enclosures, how would I keep it warm?

I saw some pictures where the top was cut just enough to lay down some metal screen, and the rest was closed off. Would this work as well?

I live in a desert climate. I place a moist towel over the half the screen lid of my ball python's terrarium and that seems to help keep the humidity pretty steady. Between 50% and 60%. I only have to mist the terrarium once a day. I also avoid using heat lamps, unless the ambient temperature drops. I use an under tank heater with a thermometer control. It seems to be working very well. I hope that helps. Good luck.
