    The evening pop out.

    OK,

Lately I've been talking python reticulatus and have been rather involved in the giant python discussion forum. They are wonderful and interesting captives from what I can tell, but time and time again, I find my coastal carpet, mutt to be the most entertaining snake in the room. At least when I'm down in the snake room watching. The others may go bananas when I'm in bed LOL!

It is a few clicks after 7PM in the Midwest and we've got a spring thunderstorm going. Almost every night like clock work, Jewel does her thing. She pops out of her hide and heads for the perches. Carpet keepers, do yourselves a favor and house your carpets in cages with at least 24" of ceiling. The entertainment and display value is well worth it.

This particular snake seems to come out a little earlier than the rest, and stay out a little longer.

I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite here, I really would because my beautiful boa will come out and climb and perch, but he is not as active as the carpet. The retic is perched now, but he is also more stealthy and doesn't want to be the life of the party. At least not yet.

These Aussie pythons, at least the carpets, mine and from what I hear a good share of others are quite social and busy.

A bit of a long post I know, but what I'm getting at is I'm skipping TV tonight and watching my girl go.

Awesome, brother! Your prior posts helped steer me towards getting one.

Now I can't wait until I can get mine into a permanent enclosure. Watching through the walls of a Sterilite tub is not ideal.

    Thanks both of you!

Its hard to deny carpet pythons and boa constrictors are wonderful snakes.

I have a bit more variety here than just those two species, but I can inmagibe being satisfied with 2 boas and 2 carpets.

They are entertaining animals, and carpets really seem more social IMO.

Jewel is a real gem Gio. I agree that carpets are more fun than watching tv. I often sit and watch mine late at night. My coastal is the most active of the carpet bunch too but my Olive moves around a lot too. I was thinking of getting a T10 but I'll have to consider that taller enclosure.

Gio, Nick has a couple of 2016 Brissy's left that are starting to color up in his latest pics. Killing me not to snatch one up.

Btw, your pic tonight inspired me to take Alpha out for a bit. The whole family got to see him! Funny, they thought his scales felt a little rougher than the BPs but I think he is smoother than them. Either way Carpets are amazing animals for sure.

I took Jewel out too. Funny she is a terrible and I mean terrible, eater as far as frequency but she will eat huge meals when she eats. I think she is growing again. Must be close to 7 feet now. Still she has a nice light, nimble body. I like that more and more. They can eat a house but stay agile!

    The evening pop out.

    I give Gio's post a very loud ECHO...echo...ech....

Only thing I can add is that 48 inches tall is twice the fun!
