Thumbs up Constrictors Reptile Expo **PICTURES** Extreme Dial-Up Warning

Whelp, I spent the ENTIRE day at the expo yesterday. There were so many vendors, I barely knew where to turn first. I was shooting pictures left and right and came out with a little over 70 of them.

I turn my two adult Leopard Geckos and had them on the HISS table. The male patternless sold for $50, but the female hypo tangerine went home with Kelli Hammack, who plans to breed her with a Mack Snow male! EEE! She is such a great person to talk with. I was even offered an '05 50% possible het for Caramel Albino male for FREE since she liked the female so much, but I had already bought another snake(hold your horses, I'll tell ya about him!), and told her I could take him or another ball later on down the road. I can't wait! My mom "ALMOST" gave in :-D hehe...

About the new addition, he's an '05 San Felipe Rosy Boa and is just precious. So calm and deliberate, and just GORGEOUS! I got him for $75 from Earthtones Reptiles. I am thinking of naming him Jack, but we'll see. He even got to come into Joe's Crabshack with us for dinner! They didn't even realize, hehe.

I also bought some 12" hemos from Animal Capture Equipment, some large pink mice and some weaned rats from Pet Snake Snacks. I almost got another Crestie but will probably end up with one at the show in Austin on August 27&28(They were only $40-$60 and were very fat and healthy!).

I saw Olive Pythons! Many Many Many Gorgeous Ball Pythons! Retics, Bloods & Borneo Short Tails, *BEARDIES*, Corns, Kings, Milks, Pines, Gophers, Rats(Scaly and Furry), Hognose, Amphibians, *CRESTIES,* White's Tree Frogs(EEEE!! Cuties!), Inverts, *FLUFFY!*, and tons and tons of equipment, cages and PEOPLE

Ok, finally, here are some pictures of the happenings. I wish I had taken a picture of the expo room, but didn't think about it. The show wasn't quite as big as last year, but it was still awesome and I can't wait until next year. I am posting them as links so I won't have to post a 2nd or a 3rd set of actual pictures.

And that is about it. Sorry for the quality on some, the lights were a little glaring at some displays, but I think they turned out OK. I will have some pictures of my little cutie pie and Amani when he settles in and when Amani has shed.

An update on Amani, she turned a year old on the 25th and now weighs over 900g. I saw some yearlings at the show that were only 350-400g, females as well... I was talking to Kelli about her and she said that Amani is quite big. So hopefully she will turn out to be a big fatty Plus, she's about to shed, so we'll see if she will sit still long enough to weigh her afterwards. I got her out of her tub last night and couldn't believe how heavy and big she seemed. I remember when she got to my house and I opened that tiny deli cup and saw her itty bitty self. Awww!

They show was great I spent about 4 hours there walking around buying(no snakes just odds and ends) $4 red bulbs were a great deal, a new snake hook oh and my AP enclosures those where great. I so wanted the Blood they had at the table the Big one. I have one comment on "fluffy" what a poor obese snake. I would have to say the snake of the show have to be the Tiger Retic everyone had them for sale. all in all a good show my wife even held a snake for her first time.

Sounds like you had loads of fun there. I still haven't made it to a reptile show, but would love to go just to experience one. I can't wait to see you're new addition and pics of Amani are always great too.

I know what you mean Becky! I need two hands to pull my male ball python Issa out of his tub now, and the little baby girls fit in the palm of my hand

I should haul them all out next week (so they're being weighed on "empty") and see how much everybody weighs now.

Great pics Becky and definitely worth my wait with my pitiful dial-up. Lucky girl to be close enough to go to something like that. Someday Mike and I hope to get to go to a large reptile show but I think maybe Chicago is the closest one to northern Michigan where we live.

Congrats on the new snake! Can't wait to see pics.

I know I wasn't there to see it, but is this the same Fluffy?

    http://www.bobclark.com/d_learn.asp?id=71&cat=learn

If so, do you really think she's obese? Bob Clark is super highly respected, a pioneer in fact in the breeding and raising of snakes. I doubt that he'd let any of his snakes be obese.

    Just a thought.
